    cáncer de próstata

November is Prostate Cancer Fight Month. The objective is to create awareness and inform about the consequences of this condition. Next we want to share a little about what prostate cancer is, what its symptoms are and how it affects a man’s fertility.

Remember that early detection saves lives.

    What is prostate cancer?

Cancer arises when cells begin to grow uncontrollably, creating abnormal numbers in the body. These cells begin to invade and destroy nearby tissues.

The prostate is a walnut-sized gland that produces seminal fluid. Although prostate cancer is a taboo subject for many men, it is important that they know the risks that exist. It is recommended that annually they go to a specialist for a review.

We invite you to read our entry: How is a man’s fertility affected?

    Symptoms include:
    • Urgent need to urinate.
    • Difficulty urinating.
    • Discomfort or pain when sitting.
    • Blood in urine and/or semen.

    * Symptoms may be different for each person.

    How does it affect fertility?

Treatment for this type of cancer may affect the number or quality of sperm.

It is important to remember that with early detection, treatments are more effective against cancer.

Although there is the possibility that a man’s fertility is reduced, at Advanced Fertility Center Cancun we help men to become fathers.

We have different treatments and studies that can help you find a solution to infertility.
