Assisted reproduction trough donation, has become a common practice to help patients who can’t conceive babies.
In some countries it is prohibited donation, that’s why couples can visit another countries to get treatments with donors; these can be anonymous donors or known donors.
The donation of both egg and sperm allows couples with fertility problems to achieve a desired pregnancy; including assisted reproduction techniques.
There are two types of donations:

Egg donation.
A woman can donate her egg to another woman, or a couple trough In vitro fertilization (IVF).
The donor of egg must undergo a hormonal treatment of ovarian stimulation, and a surgical procedure called follicular puncture, to obtain the egg inside the follicles of the ovary. It is usually a simple and fast process, which is done under anaesthesia.
To be a donor you must be between 18 and 35 years old, in addition to being healthy both physically and emotionally; among other aspects that the clinic must establish before.
For the woman who wants to get pregnant, she must enter a hormonal treatment, to have an adequate endometrium for the implantation of the embryos transferred to the uterus.

Sperm donation.
Sperm donation can be implemented by artificial insemination, or In Vitro Fertilization.
This process is usually simpler than the donation of eggs, the donor must deposit the ejaculate in a sterile bottle; the sample is obtained by masturbation, after 3 to 7 days of abstinence.
The donor of semen must be between 18 and 40 years old, in addition to an excellent seminal quality so that the sperm is able to survive the freezing. All samples are frozen for 6 months; this time is necessary to confirm the absence of infections as the hiv.
Various situations of infertility can create the need to resort to the donation of egg or sperm, as reproductive treatment.
