nuestras medidas preventivas para huracanes

The hurricane season starts in June and ends in November. As we are currently in the hurricane season, we want you to know our hurricane protocol. We will share with you some information about the measures we take in the event of a storm or hurricane to ensure the well-being of our doctors and patients.

At Advanced Fertility Center Cancun we take the necessary preventive measures to keep you safe during your visit to the clinic.

We have an action protocol depending on the hurricane warning. These alerts range from blue, having a minimum danger, to red, signifying maximum danger.

Blue Alert: Our team will keep informed and attentive to official communications. The light plant will be tested, and laboratory supplies and medicines will be checked for completeness.

Green Alert: A meeting of area heads will be convened to establish guards and one head of guard per department will be designated. Actions are planned according to the category of expected event.

Yellow Alert: We communicate to patients attending the clinic about possible changes in scheduled appointments and procedures. Hurricane screens will be placed on the windows of our clinic for the safety of staff and patients.

Orange Alert: Consultations are suspended on the day the impact is expected. Consultations are left open only in tropical storms and type 1 hurricanes.

Red Alert: Imminent danger. The clinic will remain closed to avoid risks. No procedures will be performed in the operating theatre or laboratory. The indications of the state civil protection are to be respected.

In case of hurricane type II, III, IV and V hurricane is predicted

  • Consultations on the day of impact and the previous afternoon will be suspended.
  • Embryos in culture will be vitrified on the day of development (according to risk).
  • Frozen embryo transfers will be cancelled.
  • Surgical procedures will be suspended on the day of impact and the following day.
