How is a sperm formed?

Sperms are composed of 3 parts.

  • Head: is the one that’s in charge to break the outer layer of the ovule at the fertilization. In the núcleos 23 pairs of chromosomes are found.
  • Intermediate piece: Here you can find the motochrondias in charge of giving energy to the sperm so that it can move.
  • Flagellum: the sperm’s tail that allows it to move, it measures about 50 micrometers.

We invite you to read our blog entry: The characteristics of sperm. We think it might be a topic from your interest.

A lot of people think that fertility problems are because of women, however this is not always true. The reality is that men can algo be infertile., for different reasons.

What should be analyzed from the sperm?

To identify if a man is infertile or sterile, a semen sample is going to be taken to analyze the sperms condition.

  • The sperm motility or mobility. If the sperms don’t move forward or just don’t move they won’t be able to fertilize the egg in a natural way.
  • The quantity or volume. A low sperm volume can indicate infertility.
  • The composition. To identify if they have a normal or abnormal form.

A man is classified as sterile when the semen sample does not have sperms, this is called azoospermia.
