    la fertilidad en parejas homoparentales

What Is fertility like for same-sex couples? Today, building a family is both a right and a cherished dream shared by many people, regardless of sexual orientation. Same-sex couples who dream of becoming parents now have access to a variety of medical alternatives that make the journey to motherhood or fatherhood possible.

Thanks to advancements in assisted reproduction, fertility for same-sex couples is now a real, accessible, and supported option, guided by specialists who accompany you every step of the way.

In vitro fertilization (IVF) using donor materials is one of the main options for same-sex couples who wish to have a baby. This treatment, widely used in fertility clinics, offers a safe and effective path to parenthood. Whether it’s a couple of two women or two men, there are different personalized approaches designed to meet the unique needs and desires of each patient.

    Assisted Reproduction for Female Couples

For couples made up of two women, one of the most common treatments is IVF with donor sperm. In this process, the ovaries of one partner are stimulated to retrieve eggs, which are then fertilized in the lab with a donor sperm sample. Afterwards, one or more embryos are transferred to the uterus of the partner who will carry the pregnancy.

A variation of this treatment is the ROPA method (Reception of Oocytes from Partner), in which one woman provides the eggs and the other carries the pregnancy. This technique allows both women to participate actively in the journey to motherhood and develop a bond with the baby from the very beginning. For many couples, this shared experience strengthens their path to becoming mothers.

    Assisted Reproduction for Male Couples

Male couples can also become parents through in vitro fertilization, but this process requires both an egg donor and a gestational surrogate. One or both partners may provide the sperm used to fertilize the donor eggs. Then, the resulting embryo is transferred to the uterus of the surrogate who will carry the pregnancy.

Although this procedure is more complex from both medical and legal perspectives, it is entirely feasible at specialized clinics with the experience and ethical standards required. Transparency, expert guidance, and professional support are essential for ensuring that every couple feels confident and secure as they build their family.

Every Path to Parenthood Is Unique
