Do you know what is male infertility? Commonly around 1 in 7 couples are infertile, meaning that they have not been able to conceive a child, even though they have had frequent, unprotected sex for a year or more. In more than half of these couples, male infertility plays a partial role.
Infertility is due to low sperm production, abnormalities in sperm function, or blockages that prevent sperm from escaping. Illness, injury, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices and other factors can contribute to male infertility.
In some cases, an underlying problem, such as an inherited disorder, hormonal imbalance, dilation of the veins around the testicle, or other condition that obstructs the outflow of sperm, may cause signs and symptoms. For example:
